Freda Kelley
Freda Kelley, RN, CHCE, HCS-D, has worked in home care since 1985. Her most recent
role is as Administrative Director of a new agency in Amarillo, TX. She continues
as Regional Director of Operations for Foundation Management Services. In this role,
she participated in the development of an orientation module system for new home
care employees. Ms. Kelley is currently a student at West Texas A&M University,
Canyon, TX working toward her B.S.N. Ms. Kelley has many years experience in nursing, but the past ten years has the personal experience of caring for her mother who has dementia. In this role as daughter, caregiver and nurse, Freda has experienced multiple issues and wants to give more understanding to not only to other patients, but to the families and the medical team.
Beckie Hinze
Beckie Hinze, MBA, BSN,RN, CHCE has been the Nurse Planner on the Foundation Management Services, Inc. Continuing Education Committee since July 2000. She has her
Master’s Degree in Business and Baccalaureate in Nursing. She shares in the
responsibility for the actual planning/needs assessment, development, implementation, and
evaluation of the provider’s continuing nursing education activities and is directly
involved in all phases of co-providership situations. She is the Vice President
of Operations for Foundation Management Services, Inc. and has been in nursing
for over 20 years. Beckie’s responsibilities in healthcare have been progressive
form clinical nursing and direct patient care to executive management.
Char Lotzgesell
Char has worked in home health care since 1990 as staff/field nurse, quality
assurance nurse, rural health coordinator, assistant agency director, and branch
agency director for the last 6 years. Recently Char has become a Regional Director
of Operations for FMS. Prior to 1990, Char worked in Ecuador, South America as
an RN. Working in a Third World Country gave Char the opportunity to assist
anyone with health problems including but not limited to: TB, burns, diabetes, and GI
problems related to parasites and malnutrition. Char has presented many seminars
for women related to basic health principles, nutrition and pregnancy.
Additionally, Char is Spanish Bi-lingual. She has been the representative for
agencies as a translator and patient educator.
Valerie Cornett
Valerie Cornett is the Provider Unit Director for the Foundation Management Services,
Inc. Continuing Education Committee. She is also the Director Education Services
for FMS. Valerie has assisted the Continuing Education Committee and developed
the provider renewal applications for TNA for 8 years (January 2006 will be the
fifth renewal). Valerie has assisted in the operation requirements that must be
implemented by the Provider Unit throughout the period of approval. Valerie will
maintain ANCC Commission on Accreditation education design criteria as provided
by TNA to plan activities, maintain responsibility for determination of objectives
and content, selection of presenter/content specialist, awarding of contact hours,
record keeping and evaluations. Many of these responsibilities are interwoven
with her qualifications as Director of Education Services. Because of Valerie’s
experience in these areas, she possesses the administrative skills, education
principles, and fiscal management necessary to fulfill her responsibility as Provider
Unit Director. Valerie is always aware of the educational needs of nurses because
of her involvement with the assessment and surveys administered in the healthcare
field. Valerie has begun to speak to small groups on new topics useful to nurses.
By using the skills and knowledge of TNA criteria, she has the ability to assist
in the development of many educational programs.
Diane Hitt
Diane Hitt, HCS-D, LVN, CHCE, has been working with FMS for 6 years. She graduated
in 1974 from an LVN program. She currently teaches JCAHO Education and training
for Covenant agencies, and has been doing so for ten years. Diane also is involved
in starting up hospice and home health agencies, conducting mock surveys, as well
as teaching and educating nurses regarding OSHA, home health, and hospice.
Terry Sweet
Terry Sweet is the Senior Infusion Consultant and speaker for Foundation Management Services, Inc. Terry has over 25 years hospital and home infusion experience and is Board Certified in Nutritional Support to assess individualized nutritional needs for enteral and TPN patients. She has developed several pharmacy clinical care plans and has overseen multiple pharmacy technician programs. Terry provides education to audiences statewide on current pharmacy and home infusion topics. Terry is constantly aware of prescription drug costs which continue to be the fastest rising healthcare cost in the U. S. Seniors are most affected by these increases, as they are more likely to be taking numerous prescriptions and to have no access to prescription benefits in their insurance coverage. The Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 is a topic that nurses must be aware of in order to improve the care of seniors and properly assist them in making decisions regarding participation in this new program.
Nanette Minton
Nanette Minton, RN, CHCE, CHPN, has been in home care for 10 years, with extensive experience in both the home care & hospice fields. She has served as both an agency director and as an executive director for a hospice agency for 3 years. Nanette has great communication skills and practical clinical knowledge.
