Overcome Coding Challenges
The Advantages of Outsourcing
Home health reimbursement is dependent in part on accurate coding. In turn, accurate coding depends wholly on the expertise of the person completing the primary and secondary diagnoses. In today’s home health environment much is asked of the clinician. In addition to understanding and applying the OASIS rules, the home health clinician must also stay current on other regulatory guidance such as the CoP’s, HIPAA, and OBQI. The clinician must practice the latest standards of care in disease management and last but not least, focus on the needs of the patient. The patient, of course, is the reason most clinicians entered home health. The opportunities to work with patients one on one helping them maintain their independence and dignity is important. With all this on the plate of the home health clinician is it reasonable to require them to stay current on the code and transaction set with the never ending coding changes in the home health industry?
Learn more in this white paper about a solution agencies have in ensuring accurate reimbursement, while at the same time, relieving their clinicians of the burden of staying current on the complex regulatory world of home health coding.
