Medicare Documentation in Home Health

The Registered Nurse and other clinicians working in home health care will be receiving important information regarding Medicare coverage regulations and documentation requirements. The attendee will learn to apply this knowledge to increase his/her competence in home health practice.

Objectives:

  • Describe regulations pertaining to Medicare home health documentation
  • Identify documentation requirements for complianceand payment (including covered services, plan of care, comprehensive assessment, drug regimen review)
  • Identify the relationship between the Comprehensive Assessment, the CMS 485, and clinical notes
  • Describe the ADR and Redetermination Processes

Requirements for Successful Completion of Activity the participant must:

  • Sign-in on the attendance sheet, be present for the entire activity
