Intermediate Coding

This workshop is designed for those in the home health industry who have a basic understanding of the coding guidelines but would like to take it to the next level. Attendees will be given the tools to master coding specific systems, disease processes, and increase their knowledge of coding conventions and guidelines. This will be moderately paced class full of information that will give coders their ability to advance their coding skills. Intermediate Coding will include PPS as it relates to coding.

Objectives:

  • Describe the appropriate use of V and E codes in home care
  • Identify diagnosis specific coding Section 1
  • Describe the diagnosis specific coding items in Section II
  • Identify diagnosis specific coding Section III.

*6 HCS-D hours (with a maximum of 1- HCS-D hours for attending both days)
